Celebrating the achievement of short filmmakers who have screened during the Fitzroy Shorts screening calendar in 2005. Fitzroy Shorts is proudly celebrating its second year of THE FITZ Best Short Film Awards. This year's awards categories are, Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Achievement in Editing and finally Best Achievement in Sound. With cash and in-kind prizes up for grabs, a number of high profile Australian shorts currently achieving substantial recognition on the local and international festival circuits are amongst the films nominated for The Fitz Awards in 2005.
Come down to The Night Cat and enjoy the cream of the crop of the best independent international shorts up against the best national and local Aussie short films.
The judges for this year's awards are Corinne Grant ( The Glass House) Richard Lowenstein ( He died with a felafel in his hand) and Michael Agar (Popcorn Taxi).
Both nights will be hosted by the Caravan of Love who are a sexy local cabaret outfit that perform in and around Fitzroy.
