Random and Shakaya

Centro Bankstown is proud to announce that the winner of Channel 10s The X Factor, Random and singing sensation Shakaya will be hitting the centre stage and performing LIVE in two separate performances at Centro Bankstown on Sunday 19 June.

Random will be performing their debut single 'Put Your Hands Up', due for release this Sunday at midday, while Shakaya, best known for their hit single 'Stop Calling Me' (2002), will be performing their new single 'Are You Ready' at 2.00pm.

Random, the winners of The X Factor 2005 are a vocal group made up of five boys from Brisbane between the ages of 16 and 26.

Donald, Jesse, TJ, Wayne & XY met briefly before at a youth talent quest, however it was actually while lining up for their separate auditions for The X Factor that they got jamming and decided to enter as a group.

Their debut single 'Put Your Hands Up' was written by L. Tennant with the production team Supaflyas, who has produced acts like Maria Winans, Backstreet Boys, Blue and Mary J Blige.

The album is due for release in early July.

"This will be Randoms only Sydney shopping centre performance so we are very excited" said Ron Glasel, NSW State Marketing Manager for Centro Properties Group.

Shakaya comes fresh from their Australian tour with Destinys Child and Mario, not to mention previous support band roles with the international likes of Usher, Peter Andre, Human Nature and Kylie Minogue!

The duo is made up of the glamorous 27 year old Simone Stacey and gorgeous 22 year old Naomi Wenitong, two indigenous women who met while attending a Cairns TAFE music course.

Shakaya has spent the last 18 months recording their second and much anticipated album.

"On the first album I think we were more reliant on people" says Naomi. "This time weve exercised complete artistic control" added Simone.

Said Ron Glasel, "Having a back-to-back act of Australian RnB/ pop groups perform is a first for Centro Bankstown. We are extremely thrilled that they have chosen Centro Bankstown."

"Those who love RnB and Australian talent should be sure to come down and for what promises to be two fantastic performances."

The centre stage area will be a flurry of activity for most of the day, and fans are advised to get down their early to secure a good position.

At the conclusion of each performance, Shakaya and Random will sign copies of their singles. Shakayas "Are you Ready" and Randoms "Put Your Hands Up" can both be purchased from Sanity on the day.
