Moomba - Let's get together and have fun!

If you like mad people jumping off bridges, fairy floss on a stick, live bands in wide open spaces, face painting, parades, fire sculptures and tummy turning rides then you'll love Moomba Waterfest 2004. Be in Melbourne over the Labour Day weekend for the most dynamic and exciting family party in the country. Focused around Melbourne's famous Yarra River, Moomba Waterfest offers loads of entertainment fro visitors of all ages.

Moomba Parade - Monday 8th March, 11am. Starts at Lonsdale street, down Swanston Street finishing at St Kilda Road Linlithgow Street.

Soak in the culture as local community groups work with the City of Melbourne to produce a spellbinding parade themed on 'Fantasy'. International flavour in 2004 can be found in the sand-sculpting exhibition that will be purpose built at Middle Terrace, Birrarung Marr, on the banks of the Yarra.

Soak in the vibe as the River Rhythms stage comes to life in the Alexandra Gardens, bringing headline musical acts to Melbourne for free both day and night.

Soak in the Nightlife with a spectacular new pyrotechnic show that will create fire sculptures that dance on the river.

Soak in the thrills and the action with the Holden Moomba Masters International Waterskiing competition and with the nail biting, thrill seeking rides on offer in the annual carnival area.

Soak in the fun when Moomba Waterfest offers free family films each evening in Birrarung Marr. There will also be a special children's entertainment area. The Children's Garden, with free activities, kids carnival and performances. And fuel stops can be made at the various international food stalls set up along the river.

The event runs over four days, in and around the Yarra, between 5-8 March.
