Kooky Tunes

Kooky Tunes
Showtune Productions is proud to present an ALL STAR cast for the AUSTRALIAN DEBUT OF KEITH THOMPSON'S HIT NEW YORK REVUE

"A non-stop laugh riot..." - Peter Leavy, Cabaret Scenes New York

Kooky Tunes is the newest, wildest, silliest, Off Broadway revue from New York writer Keith Thompson This February, Showtune Productions will premiere the first production of this hit show outside of New York, with a four-week season at Kabarett Voltaire. David Hawkins is directing and has assembled the most amazing cast, all incredible solo music theatre/cabaret artists in their own right: Sharon Millerchip (Belle in Beauty & the Beast, Velma in Chicago), Andrew Benson (Aunty Mavis), Eddie Perfect (Melbourne Cabaret/Comedy sensation) and Kaye Tuckerman (The Boy From Oz, Les Miserables, Buddy), with one of Australia's leading musical directors Greg Crease on the piano.

The life of Kooky Tunes started in 1998 at Eighty Eights in the Village and ran several seasons to huge acclaim, transferring to the Laurie Beecham Theatre (Off-Broadway) for a sell-out run. But the Kooky impact was yet to hit its major audience. After the events of September 11 profoundly affected everyone in New York, Keith Thompson started getting many requests to revive the show from people saying "Its time to laugh again". The show opened in the main room at Don't Tell Mamma's and played for several sell-out seasons and was picked up by Jay Records for a cast recording in 2002. And now it's Sydney's turn to laugh our cares away with a Kooky Kabarett bent! The show takes its audience on a fun, light-hearted journey through a series of characters and songs, with a true wacky and Kooky Manhattan flair.

"So come with us as we look at life from the lighter side... the brighter side... the righter side, the unusual side..."

"Kooky Tunes is easily one of the funniest and most entertaining shows I've ever seen." - David Hurst, Showbusiness Weekly New York
