The Australia India Friendship Fair 2007 is the largest gathering of Indians outside of India and, next to Chinese New Year, is Australias largest cultural event, attracting over 25 000 visitors in one day.
The event will take place on Sunday 12 August at the Athletic Centre, Sydney Olympic Park. This huge event celebrates the Indian Independence day by showcasing the best of the diverse, magical and colourful Indian culture in Australia. Among the attractions there will be:
A fashion parade featuring 4 sari houses
Camel rides
Performances by Indian dance troupes and musicians (The Indian singer Kamahl will be one of the performing artists)
A Bollywood spectacular dancing and singing
Over 100 food stalls
Indian clothing stalls
Henna hand painting
Indian cooking classes
Yoga and meditation classes
Kids face painting
Kanga Cricket
