Royal Botanic Garden Sydney for National Science Week

Royal Botanic Garden Sydney for National Science Week

Explore the wonders of science with the stunning backdrop of the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, at the inaugural Living Laboratory event on 11 August 2018. In this free National Science Week program, adults and children will get the opportunity to explore the scientist's labs, see behind-the-scenes in the herbarium and discover amazing plants and wildlife at stalls throughout the Garden.

This year, the Garden will be alive with animals, as Australian Wildlife Displays bring all numbers of creepy-crawlies, slimy frogs and large mammals for you to see and even touch. Relax by the mainstage as live music filled the Garden and scientists perform talks and engaging experiments.

The Garden's PlantClinic will be opening its doors for some amazing behind-the-scenes activities, where adults and kids can discover the weird and wonderful world of plant sciences. Meet the Garden's scientists and horticulturalists and find out about the amazing work they do to grow our knowledge of the world we all live in.

'There is a lot more to the Garden than just displays and flowers. Some of the most cutting-edge science in the world is happening right here in the heart of Sydney, and it's our responsibility to inspire people and engage young people in the vital science that is plant research" says Christina McGhee, Team Leader of Education and Community Programs at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney
