Featuring over 1100 metres of pink scaffolding, a first-of-its-kind industrial inspired Christmas tree will illuminate the heart of the city with glowing neon lights and dramatic oversized baubles.
Taking over QV Square from 21 November, the new Christmas tree has been custom designed with a quintessentially Melbourne direction in mind.
"QV Melbourne is the city's one stop shopping, dining and entertainment destination made up of city laneways. This Christmas, we are thrilled to launch a design-led festive experience, with a tree that reflects Melbourne's status as Australia's arts, culture and fashion capital," says QV Melbourne Centre General Manager, Arabella Richards.
A Personalised Bauble Station will support QV's new partnership with Melbourne City Mission (MCM), helping those in need in the Melbourne community. For every bauble redeemed, QV Melbourne will proudly donate $20 to Melbourne City Mission's summer appeal, supporting their youth homelessness services.
"This collaboration with QV allows us to make a greater impact, helping us to support the thousands of young Victorian people who reach out to us each year. Donations from the Christmas bauble campaign will mean we can provide immediate relief and create lasting change in the lives of those who need it most, and we couldn't be more excited to have the opportunity to receive the community's generosity through this collaboration with QV," say Melbourne City Mission CEO Vicki Sutton.
"With the community's support our aim is to break intergenerational cycles of trauma and disadvantage and to drive systemic change to end youth homelessness in Victoria. Together we can create a brighter future for all."
Christmas shoppers can secure their very own personalised bauble keepsake when they spend $50 or more in one transaction at any participating QV store. A resident calligrapher will customise the bauble for a personal decoration or a gift for a loved one. Every customised QV bauble represents a $20 donation to Melbourne City Mission. The QV Bauble Customisation Station is located in QV Square, open from 12pm to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays from 7-22 December.
Fundraising QR codes for MCM's summer appeal will appear on screens throughout the precinct.
Meet under the tree from 1pm every Friday from 29 November-20 December to receive a complimentary jar of QV Christmas Candy, plus a chance to win a $25 QV gift card. Choose your favourite flavour - Candy Cane Mint or Cherry Joy, and peel back the candy jar's secret sticker to reveal if you're a winner and 'feel the festive'!
Black Friday at QV Melbourne will include over $20,000 in QV gift card giveaways, from 4pm – 7pm at Prize Parcel Point on Friday 29 November - Sunday 1 December in Red Cape Lane. To participate, present a receipt of $50 or more in one transaction made on the day at participating stores for your chance to win.
Accessible through its network of laneways, QV exemplifies the quintessential Melbourne experience from food to fashion and so much more.
In July, the QV Food Hall opened, with local fan-favourites like Chunky Town and Mumuyo joined by new foodie finds such as David Lim's Bakmi Lim Noodle Project, authentic Michelin Street food destination Local Hero Singapore, the eye-catching Disc Taiwan Wheel Cake and the always on point Puzzle Coffee. The QV Food Hall is open for casual dining from day to night, 10am-8pm daily.
Recent openings throughout the precinct include cult hit burger joint Five Guys (Oct '24), curated luxury fashion destination Marais Womens' (July '24), certified b corporation Australian fashion brand Bassike (Sept '24) and day to night coffee and dessert bar, Amiri Cafe (March '24).
There are more opportunities to shop, dine and play at QV Melbourne, with extended trading hours across the Black Friday weekend, and late trading for Christmas shoppers beginning on Saturday 14 December.
