In Conversation with Elizabeth Broderick

In Conversation with Elizabeth Broderick

Dress for Success Sydney is hosting their first In Conversation series for 2020 with the remarkable Elizabeth Broderick.

Elizabeth has brought together captains of industry, sport, governments and Defence Force chiefs to address gender inequality in Australia and beyond.

As Australia's longest serving Sex Discrimination Commissioner (2007-2015), Elizabeth worked tirelessly to break down structural and social barriers faced by women and men, and to promote gender equality.

Her review into the treatment of women in the Australian Defence Force led to sweeping cultural reforms and change on a global level.

All proceeds go to Dress for Success, a non-profit organisation providing women in need with support and coaching to find work and financial independence. They serve more than 3000 NSW women each year by providing and styling professional attire, offering job search skills training and peer network support at no cost. These services empower women to restore their resumes and rebuild their self-belief to engage in a job search or find alternative work options after unemployment. The majority of clients are emerging from a financial crisis or welfare dependence as a result from job redundancy, gender, age, racial discrimination, healthcare crisis, breakdown of marriage, domestic violence or intergenerational poverty.
