Half Moon Run Dark Eyes

Buzz Canadian band Half Moon Run have released their debut long player Dark Eyes in Australia via new label Indica, the first release they've secured outside of their homeland Canada.

Dark Eyes was released in Canada on March 27th and has charted consistently since its release, with first single Full Circle achieving a chart-topping position at leading radio network, CBC Radio 3.

Half Moon Run is a talented young trio hailing from Montreal. Devon Portielje met Conner Molander and Dylan Phillips through a mutual friend. It was in Montreal's mileend district that the trio bonded and created their unique sound, fusing together the restless elements of indie, pop and folk with beautiful rhythmic harmonies, delicate guitar lines and a hint of warm electronica.

Aged between 20-24 years of age, armed with solid training and raw talent, Half Moon Run combine varied musical backgrounds, often trading instruments and multitasking to great effect.

Their increasingly complex arrangements are probably best explained by seeing them live. Portielje's vocals are on a level rarely seen in the indie music scene and are backed up superbly by Molander and Phillips. Phillips often plays drums and keys simultaneously as Molander and Portielje shuffle between guitar, keys, samplers, and percussion. Folky three-part harmonies hold down moody, psychedelic arrangements and electronic-infused soundscapes.

The trio has already wowed audiences at SXSW and Great Escape in 2012, and are currently enjoying a huge industry buzz in the UK following their recent 32 date tour of Europe. They are confirmed for several European festivals in the fall including Reeperbahn (Germany) and Inrocks (France), and will then return home for the Canadian summer to play the country's festival circuit.

Half Moon Run delivers a spine tingling musical experience, their sublime sounds washing over you as you track through the album. Stand out cuts include the first single 'Full Circle', which has already received more than 84,000 views on YouTube, 'Call Me In The Afternoon' and 'She Wants To Know'.
