Kingfishr Share New Single 'Man On The Moon'

It's only February and already everything is heating up in the continued rise of Ireland's Kingfishr. Having recently won the Music Moves Europe Award, the trio have also been nominated for Irish Breakthrough Artist at the RTÉ Choice Music Prize Awards, while on the live front they have completed a European tour with James Bay and seen their outdoor headline shows in Dublin and Limerick sell out months in advance. Everything primes the band to build upon a career total of 70 million streams to date.

Now Kingfishr further fuel that momentum as they share their new single "Man On The Moon".

"Man On The Moon" represents a bold evolution in the Kingfishr sound. As ever, Eddie Keogh's rich, thunderous voice sizzles with emotional intensity and is supported by an enticingly modern take on Irish roots music. This time however, they bring some widescreen open road indie/alt drama into the mix with echoes of The War on Drugs and Sam Fender. Lyrically it's inspired by the band's desire to share their own instantly relatable truths: in this case the innate need to pursue your passions.

Eddie Keough says, "'Man On The Moon' is about betraying yourself, and what that does to a person. In Dante's Inferno, the final circle of hell is reserved for betrayers. It's hard to overstate how destructive it is to not follow your heart, the song deals with this."

Despite already achieving so much, Kingfishr are yet to release their debut album - their biggest body of work so far being the Irish Independent Chart #1 'Live From Dublin' album. And it's in the live arena that they've built much of their word-of-mouth following. Whether they're playing house parties, impromptu pub jams or ever bigger live shows (they sold 20,000 tickets during their sold-out UK and Ireland tour late last year), they bring the same power, passion and natural charm that's constantly winning them new admirers.

Having also supported Bruce Springsteen, George Ezra, Tom Walker and Snow Patrol and played the Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, Electric Picnic, Isle of Wight and Rock Werchter festivals, Kingfishr are set to reunite with James Bay as special guests at his OVO Wembley Arena show next week. The Neighbourhood Weekender follows in May and then the Dublin and Limerick shows are scheduled for later in the year- with much more live activity for 2025 yet to be unveiled.
