Multi-platinum singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Daniel Seavey has announced his highly anticipated full-length solo debut album, Second Wind, will be arriving March 7 via Atlantic Records. The 12-track project is previewed today by title track "Second Wind" which continues a dynamic run of collaborations with chart-topping writer/producer Michael Pollack (Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber), pulling from Seavey's ultimate early-aughts pop-rock inspirations. Seavey has also announced he will be returning to Australia in June, presented by TEG LIVE, for his international headline Second Wind Tour. Kicking off March 18 in Dallas, TX, he will tour throughout US, Europe and UK before touching down in Australia in June. Beginning in Perth on June 7, he will proceed to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, before then heading to New Zealand. Daniel Seavey was last in Australia in 2024 where he spent 3 weeks winning over a legion of new fans while supporting Dean Lewis. He presented Song Of The Year at the 2024 ARIA Awards, as well as played a secret headline show at The Lansdowne Hotel in Sydney which sold out in less than two hours via a post on Instagram stories. He surprised fans who missed out on tickets and were waiting outside the venue with an acoustic performance in the park, and throughout his visit surprised fans with pop-up events at record stores which were met with lines around the block. With all of this activity happening in Australia, "Gateway Drug" entered the Australian Spotify Viral Top 50 Chart, peaking at #19.
2024 saw Seavey command some of the biggest stages of his solo career, including a festival debut at Lollapalooza which became amongst the most viral sets of the weekend. Seavey also spent much of the year on the road supporting Benson Boone on both US and UK legs of his tour. With fans already having learned the lyrics along his shows, "Second Wind" adds to an exciting collection of tracks off the upcoming full-length project, including "Gateway Drug," "The Older You Get", "Other People." and "If I Ever Get To Heaven".
Seavey recently sat with ABC News' Megan Ryte for an inspiring Nightline profile interview recapping his near-decade long career journey through varying industry molds and frameworks to ultimately find his creative freedom. In 2016, Seavey co-founded Why Don't We and embarked upon an unbelievable six-year journey highlighted by over 6 billion global career streams (210 million Australian streams), 2x ARIA Top 10 albums including a #2 ARIA album, 4x aria Platinum singles and 4x ARIA Gold singles. However by 2022, Seavey was amidst one of the most trying and turbulent periods of his life: weathering family health struggles, professional tumult, and the death of a close friend. The material he wrote and recorded during this time ultimately became 2023's Dancing In The Dark EP, introducing himself as a solo artist despite ongoing legal restraints keeping his creative ownership in jeopardy. The project amassed over 60 million streams, anchored by "I Tried" (which was named among The Best Songs of 2023 So Far by Rolling Stone), "Can We Pretend That We're Good?" and "Runaway." The explosive self-penned/produced songs were deemed "punchy and experimental" by Billboard, while Rolling Stone further praised Seavey for his "impeccable production skills, stellar vocals, and personal artistry." Simultaneously, he embarked on a sold-out 17-show headline tour, premiering new music and dynamic covers for fans across the country.
Now following an excruciating court process, 2025 sees Seavey emerge a free artist at his brightest, boldest, and most brilliant. Channeling the spirit of early-aughts pop and rock from a 22nd century perspective, he leaves no stone unturned, writing, playing multiple instruments, and overseeing arrangements, production and mixing. In doing so, he presents an inimitable and irresistible sound all his own.
