Bon Fromage Festival of European Cheeses

Bon Fromage Festival of European Cheeses

After a successful 2017 event, Sydney is set to experience the wonderful world of French Cheese, with Bon Fromage, a 3-day cheese festival presented by the Centre National Interprofessionel de l'Economie Laitière (CNIEL), with the support of the European Union. The festival will launch on Friday 18th October at Carriageworks, in Sydney.

The festival will be open to cheese lovers for one weekend only, with a series of masterclasses and demonstrations from some of Sydney's best purveyors of exquisite French cheese, and the opportunity to taste some of France's finest cheeses.

The festival is free to enter and there will be over one tonne of cheese being given away for punters to consume. We are expecting to bring in over 7,000 people across the weekend. There will also be kilos on kilos of French cheese available for purchase. Free tickets to Bon Fromage are available via EventBrite.

The 3-day festival will boast a piazza for all your cheese needs, including a wine bar and a stage set to deliver insightful Masterclasses and Demonstrations. The free masterclasses will teach you how to match your cheese with your wine, beer and gin, the difference between creamy and stinky cheese, and the history of French cheese.

This year festival-goers can experience a range of unique dishes created especially for the Festival. There is a one-off French cheese dessert from Koi Dessert Bar, French cheeseburgers by BL Burgers and raclette from Loluk Bistro, as well as cheese platters and all the accompaniments from Ocello, The Artisan Cheese Room and Simon Johnson.

Bon Fromage Ambassador, French cheesemonger Francois Robin, will bring his passion to Carriageworks. He will demonstrate a series of masterclasses on the main stage. Having been recognised as one of France's best Cheesemongers, he will be on hand to inspire and educate festival-goers.

Francois Robin said of his involvement in the festival, "I'm so happy to come to Bon Fromage to meet Australian cheese fans and explain to them the beauty of French landscapes, the depth of our tradition, but most of all, help them to enjoy the simple and accessible pleasure of eating French cheeses."

Bon Fromage will be held from Friday 18th October through Sunday 20th October, consumers can register for their free tickets at the Festival website: www.europeancheeses.com.au
