Angie McMahon has unveiled the intoxicating new single Keeping Time

Set to make her Splendour in the Grass debut this weekend and following the announcement of her headline tour this September, Angie McMahon has unveiled the intoxicating new single Keeping Time.

"This song is me yelling at myself to get off my arse and do some work... but in a loving way," muses McMahon. "Like, you know what you want, and you can either back yourself or keep bad habits, so take note of where you're at and use it as fuel. It's like a love song to self-discipline. I hope others can feel some affection towards it too."

Her timeless ruminations on everyday life will be on display this September for headline performances in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide. McMahon will be joined by one of her favourite artists Leif Vollebekk. The Canadian indie folk singer-songwriter will come armed with his 2017 album Twin Solitude which was shortlisted for the 2017 Polaris Music Prize and 2018 Juno Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year.

Since the release of her breakaway debut single Slow Mover in October 2017, the singer-songwriter has performed sold-out shows across Australia and the UK, in addition to high profile supports for Father John Misty, Alanis Morissette, The Shins, Angus and Julia Stone and more. McMahon has also graced festival stages at St Jerome's Laneway, Secret Garden and NYE on the Hill.

Quickly capturing the attention of audiences with her candid songwriting and raw melodies, McMahon's debut single Slow Mover landed at #33 on the triple j hottest 100, secured an honourable mention in the Vanda and Young Songwriting Competition, received radio play in the UK and Germany and is nearing 3.7 million plays on Spotify. Second single Missing Me saw her make her mark globally, charting in the Top 30 of College Radio in the USA and has amassed over 1.8 million Spotify streams with the help of New Music Friday playlists in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Locally the track was the #7 most played song at triple j and saw McMahon nominated for Breakthrough Artist of the Year (AIR).

With her debut album now in its final stages and new music to be revealed shortly, 2018 will see McMahon launch further into the stratosphere with her most compelling expression yet.
