Alexander Biggs Dog Boy

Alexander Biggs Dog Boy

Set to release his sophomore EP Whatever Helps You Sleep on August 24th, Melbourne creative Alexander Biggs has today unveiled the third single Dog Boy via Sony Music Entertainment Australia.

"Dog Boy was written in a blanket fort in a ground floor apartment in the middle of Melbourne city," explains Alexander. "It's about realising I hadn't been taking care of myself or loving myself and realising that I need to do better. It's an old riff from a phone demo that I eventually put together in the fort, writing the lyrics in one sitting because a good song is a finished one. The song builds into an explosion of mess and harmony and melody, and I made it that way searching for catharsis, which I hope listeners can feel, and that I feel when I play it."

The introspective nature of his songwriting is connecting with local and international audiences. Recent singles Car Ride and Close Enough have received airplay from Radio X (UK), Triple j and community radio around Australia.

Alexander Biggs will support Amy Shark on her Australian tour this month.
