Introducing a Bold New Taste Experience with Young & Co Wines

Flavour, fashion and flair are not the usual descriptors used to discuss wine, but this is exactly what adventurous new wine brand Young & Co achieves with its luscious lip-smacking new range. Launching this month under the Constellation Brands New Zealand portfolio, the range includes three red wines – "The Jam" Shiraz, "Cherry Bomb" Pinot Noir and "Berry Riot" Grenache – while a rosé, along with white varietals, will follow later this year.

Promising a flavour sensation in every glass, the bold and disruptive Young & Co labels were designed to embrace the hero taste characteristics of the varietal and assist those new to wine to find a flavour that appeals.

Sourced from some of the world's leading wine regions, from McLaren Vale in Australia to the south of France, the range delivers a perfect balance of style and sass while bursting with rich favours sure to tantalise tastebuds. The Jam McLaren Vale Shiraz evokes an abundance of fruit flavour and real blackberry taste sensation, Cherry Bomb French Pinot Noir is packed with sweet cherry flavours creating a real taste explosion and Berry Riot French Grenache flaunts sweet raspberry and subtle spice making for a perfect pairing with tasty ethnic dishes.

According to Samantha Benney, Marketing Manager, Young & Co, "Research tells us flavour is the #1 consideration for consumers when they are purchasing alcoholic beverages, excluding price and promotions1. This combined with wine drinkers becoming more adventurous with their palate and seeking out different regions, varietals and styles, means that the new Young & Co range ticks all the right boxes in delivering a tantalising taste experience."

Review: What a series! The modern bottle labels of the Young & Co range would make the perfect gift for a new or long-standing wine drinker.

The Jam McLaren Vale Shiraz is a true winner of the wines with an almost sweet characteristic whilst being dark ruby in colour. With berry and licorice scents this is an easy-drinking wine that would pair well with a meal of pizza or pasta (or anything else). Allow the wine to breathe and it's very drinkable, now. Cheers!

Young & Co will be available in BWS nationally from mid-June 2019 and retail for $25 (RRP).

Young & Co Tasting Notes;

The Jam – McLaren Vale Shiraz
The Jam is a rich Shiraz with a glorious attitude evoking an abundance of fruit flavours. This wine offers a lush palate of blackberry and dark plum, accompanied by a playful hint of sweet oak and spice. Jewel-like in colour, it throws tones of deep ruby red. The aroma is an enticing blend of ripe blackberry fruit, mocha and spice.

Cherry Bomb – French Pinot Noir
Cherry Bomb is a flamboyant Pinot Noir that oozes French flair. From the south of France, Cherry Bomb is a wonderfully stylish fusion of colour and flavour, vibrant red in hue and flaunting flavours of raspberry and dark cherry with a perfectly rounded mouthfeel that welcomingly lingers well after the flavour explosion.

Berry Riot – French Grenache
Berry Riot is a Grenache bursting with style and sass, as one would expect from the French. Abundant with the aroma and flavour of red berry fruit, this wine offers seamless and elegant structure. Wonderfully balanced and with a lovely length to finish. Be prepared for unbridled flavour with the Berry Riot.

The Young & Co Australian launch also includes the introduction of 'Super Fresh' – a range of delicious emerging wine varietals from exciting international regions. Young & Co Super Fresh red wines will be available in BWS nationally from mid-June 2019 retailing for $20 (RRP), while the Super Fresh white wines will launch later this year.

Young & Co Super Fresh Tasting Notes;

Zinfandel (California)
This is a stylish little number out of California. Rich and robust with blackberry and blueberry notes and a subtle hint of anise. Imagine the warm Californian sun as you breathe in the aromas of ripe plum, blackberry, black spice and cocoa. Zinfandel fans will appreciate the lingering spicy finish.

Tempranillo (Spanish)
A fabulous, fresh and fruity Tempranillo from sunny Spain. Say "hola" to a wine that celebrates juicy red fruits with just enough spice to round out the flavours creating a long finish. Delicioso!

Malbec (Argentinian)
The deep purple colour of this Argentinian Malbec hints at the dark berry flavours within. Black cherry, plum and blackberry meld to provide a distinctively rich character. A wine with good body and toasty oak notes with a cooked berry sweetness to the finish.
