Womama is a new brand on the Australian market offering contemporary maternity lingerie, sleepwear and birthing wear, with a focus on using organic cotton liners and incorporating sustainable fabrics such as bamboo.

Womama was inspired by the wonder and excitement of becoming a parent. Appreciating what your body can do, becoming the centre of a little person's universe. After struggling to find attractive maternity bras and breastfeeding clothing, two entrepreneurial kiwi mums took matters into their own hands and developed their own range of motherhood lingerie and birthwear. Five years later and well established in New Zealand, Womama is now bringing their range of feminine, contemporary maternity lingerie to the rest of the world, including Australia!

Heidi Hollbrook and Juliette George are passionate advocates of breastfeeding and so established early on that the Womama point of difference would be a breast-led focus in terms of design and functionality. Styles are designed specifically with breast comfort and breastfeeding in mind.

The result?
The current Natures Collection features gorgeous fabrics that feel soft against the skin and wear well with focus on cotton organic linings and incorporating sustainable fabrics such as bamboo. The Womama designs are feminine, fit properly and provide optimum support, whilst making Mum feel like she is the centre of the universe - because that's how baby sees her!

Femininity, grace and comfort are at the heart of the womama design ethos. One day over a cup of tea, both women were lamenting the fact that the traditionally drab hospital gown was still the default garment for many women giving birth. It became another "Wo Mama!" moment for them and leads to the introduction of the birthing wrap to the collection.

Specifically designed for birth, this comfortable, practical wrap, made from soft organic fabric, allows for quick easy access for skin on skin contact once your baby is born. The birthing wrap encourages ease of movement and is perfect for midwife monitoring. The wrap makes you feel feminine at home or in hospital knowing that you are fully covered when you want to be. And it is so versatile. You can wear it pre-birth as a maternity wrap or post-birth as a nightie. It's great during breastfeeding too.
