Walk Gently Album Launch
Sydney singer-songwriter Jane Walker launches her highly anticipated debut album, Walk Gently, 20 May at the Sydney Dance Lounge in Walsh Bay with a live ticketed performance open to the public. The album brings to fruition a decade of performance and songwriting in Australia, UK, Europe and Africa.
Trained in classical and jazz disciplines at the NSW Conservatorium of Music, she has been compared to artists including Fiona Apple, Dido, Norah Jones, Sade and Carole King.
"I am very excited to present the years of work that went into this album in the way I love best, through a live performance to my friends and fans," said Walker.
Playing with Jane on the evening is bass player Jan Bangma, stepson of bass legend Jackie Orszaczky, who also recently completed a tour with Lisa Mitchell. Playing on keys is Barbara Griffin, a writer and producer for Sony Music who produced most of Walk-Gently alongside Walker. One of Sydney's finest percussionists, Jess Ciampa also joins Jane for this special performance.
Her debut single, 'Do it With Love' was released to Australian radio and iTunes in February 2011, becoming one of the top ten hit-picks for The Music Network magazine, while the video attracted the production talents of 360Fashion Network's founder, Anina.
Another song from the album, 'All Acts of Love' was released on Universal Music compilation Groove Operator in Poland in January 2011.
Walk Gently, the debut album, will be officially released to iTunes through GoSet Music on 17 May 2011. The CD will also be available through the GoSet Online Store at
