Vixens of Fall's Wild River: An Intersection of Eternal Tradition and Contemporary Alchemy

Vixens of Fall's Wild River: An Intersection of Eternal Tradition and Contemporary Alchemy

Get ready to be mesmerized by Vixens of Fall, the powerhouse trio that is poised to take Australia by storm with their breathtaking new single, Wild River. Written in collaboration with Max Jackson, Wild River captures the enchanting transition from the golden veil of innocence to the vivid tapestry of adulthood. This evocative track delves into the vibrant tapestry of childhood, brimming with dreams, goals, aspirations, and boundless imagination. It masterfully captures the poignant realization that growing up often turns life into an old black-and-white film, leaving it to us to inject our own colour, our own meaning, into the monochrome.

Hailing from Australia, Nina, Wren, and LuLu have already established themselves as a formidable presence. Their debut album, Magick in the Chaos, has streamed over 1.5 million times, rocketing to #1 on the iTunes country chart and #11 on the all-genres chart. This dynamic group has twice been crowned the ICMAA Most Popular Independent Country Band and has graced the main stages of major Australian country festivals, including The Gympie
Music Muster, Groundwater Country Music Festival, and NQ's Rockin' Country, even selling out a ticketed show at the prestigious Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Wild River marks Vixens of Fall's first single release to the USA, following a series of successful singles and a landmark debut album in Australia. The track opens with lush vocal harmonies and a stripped-back arrangement of soulful vocals, guitar, and banjo, then transitions into a rich, contemporary country sound. Powerful harmonies, emotional intensity, and an irresistible hook lead to a soaring final chorus. As the band says, 'In this poetic song, we tried to capture the experience you have growing up – being little and innocent to getting older and learning how to work for your dreams.'

With a history of major achievements that includes being finalists for the QMusic Country Song of the Year for The Long Game and dominating the AMRAP charts with Prove You Wrong, Vixens of Fall are no strangers to the spotlight. Their past singles have soared to the Top 5 on the national CountryTown Hot 50 chart and the KIX Country Hottest 20 chart, and have been added to full rotation on ABC Country, iHeart Country Australia, and MMM Country, while
receiving airplay on radio stations worldwide. Their hit If You Don't Want My Love was even featured on CMT USA's AUSWEEK special.

Vixens of Fall are set to enchant a global audience with Wild River. This track takes you on a mesmerizing journey from the innocence of childhood to the vibrant, complex reality of adulthood. It's a song that invites you to reflect and immerse yourself in its depth. Vixens of Fall are on the brink of something significant, ready to make their mark in contemporary country music.

Vixens Interview

How would you describe your music?

Vixens of Fall's music is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, reflecting the diverse tapestry of their musical journey. Our music is such a blend we coined our own term – Boho Country rock.
We are a little of whimsy Stevie Nicks and as feisty as Miranda Lambert with the tits of Dolly Parton.

Can you tell us about (your new song/upcoming gig/video), what was the inspiration?

We wrote Wild River with Max Jackson about the magical, golden veil of innocence disappearing. The song reflects on the technicolor moment that is childhood, and the endless possibilities of dreams, goals, aspirations and imagination… then growing up to realise it's mostly like an old black and white film.. and you need to add the colour yourself. The trials and tribulations, the excitement and joys of life; teach you that you need to take charge of your life. It's not going to handed to you.

What are you musical influences?

Our musical influences are Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson.

Do you prefer performing live or recording?

Nothing beats the feeling on performing live, walking up to that microphone – whether it's a packed out or intimate crowd, we know that's what we were born for. In saying that… We love the process of recording and seeing the start, middle and ending. Being involved in the process is very fulfilling – we still get nervous before we record because we are so invested in the process.

What should we expect from your upcoming shows?

We take the people on a journey of music, magick and humour. Our upcoming shows promise to be an electrifying night filled with soulful harmonies, energetic dance moves, and a captivating band (they're pretty awesome) that will have everyone dancing all night long. We hope to leave them feeling uplifted and inspired.
What motivates you most when writing music?

We thrive off our experiences and stories we've heard. Being able to create something magical from a simple word or phrase, helps delve deep into the inspiration pool. With our writing team, we bounce ideas off eachother and come up with some powerful moments.

Which music/artists are you currently listening to?

Ashley McBride, Chris Stapleton, Jelly Roll, Tyler Childers and Megan Moroney. They all hit different, absolute roller coaster. We love listening and experiencing resonating lyrics and pumping anything country.

What or who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?

We've always loved singing and performing. We started as our father's doo op girls at family bbqs and our love for music has simply grown from there. We've always been drawn to every aspect of music. This was definitely a dream that we didn't think could be a reality.

If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?

We couldn't possibly choose just one. So we're going to give you two. Either Chris Stapleton or Beccy Cole. With Sir Stapleton, we feel we could create a smooth, funky, Americana feel. With Ms Beccy, we've always wanted write a country anthem for women because it's so important to band together and support eachother.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced in the music industry?

Probably balancing our vixens lives and day time lives. Call us the country Hannah Montana. But honestly just finding balance for everything. Because not only do we have to find balance for one, we have to think of three and all that surround us.

What's next, for you?
We're really excited that we're taking the next step and making our music debut in the states. It's exciting and daunting, but that's growth baby. We love that there a people in another country that believe in us and the music we create. To give us the opportunity to share us with a whole new audience and foster and add to our community.
