Brooklyn's own married songwriting duo, Jennie Litt and David Alpher have released of their debut recording, Two Apples, a collection of eleven original songs covering topics ranging from lingerie to gym addiction to the random miracle of existence.
Ms. Litt describes Alpher&Litt as 'eclectic writers inspired by American popular song and most comfortable in an idiom that's equal parts musical theatre, Tin Pan Alley, and Tom Lehrer." Alpher&Litt have been performing together since 1999 and writing songs together since 2004.

David Alpher is a world renowned composer, musician and recording artist who has collaborated with Thomas Hampson, Jay Ungar, and Molly Mason to produce the 1992 CD, American Dreamer: Songs of Stephen Foster (Angel), as well as a series of concerts and broadcasts at venues such as Lincoln Center, Tanglewood, and Town Hall. He has worked with Dawn Upshaw, Marilyn Horne, Christopheren Nomura, Judy Collins and Garrison Keillor, who recorded the narration of his composition Land of the Farther Suns, a spoken word cycle for narrator, four flutes and piano. His composition, Las Meninas: Variations, has had thirty-three performances worldwide. He is the founder of the Rockport Chamber Music Festival, and served as Artistic Director for ten years.
Vocalist, lyricist, recording artist, teacher, and director, Jennie Litt, is a two-time ASCAPlus Award winner. In New York, Litt has performed at New York's popular clubs 54 Below, The Metropolitan Room and Stage 72 among other venues, and has coached cabaret at Vassar College and presented master classes for the New York Singing Teachers Association. Litt and Alpher will team-teach a cabaret residency at Maine's Summerkeys in 2015.
Alpher&Litt have appeared in numerous venues in the northeast and beyond, including The Chamber Arts Festival of Marbletown (with Jay Ungar & Molly Mason), the Rockport Chamber Music Festival, Bard College, Harvard University, Vassar College, and The MacDowell Colony . They have been featured on WAMC/Northeast Public Radio's popular "Performance Place" and "Dancing on the Air." Alpher&Litt made their NYC club debut in 2010 at Don't Tell Mama with the show Composing Ourselves.
