Tom Curtain Heaven on Earth

Tom Curtain Heaven on Earth

Australia's own outback horseman, Tom Curtain, returns with his brand-new single, 'Heaven on Earth'. The singer-songwriter and owner of the award-winning Katherine Outback Experience releases the new song ahead of his highly anticipated fifth album, Nothin's Gonna Stop Us.

The single follows on from Tom's previous effort, 'Why We Live Out Here', which spent 5 weeks in the #1 spot of the Country Tracks Top 40 airplay chart. It's still a Top 10 fixture in the chart 17 weeks on.

Like its predecessor, 'Heaven on Earth' is an uplifting track about life and love. The song was born in a horse truck, as Tom reminisced on convincing his now wife, Annabel, to leave behind her career and family farm in WA and risk it all with him in the NT outback. "I'm still amazed Annabel came with me to be honest," he chuckles. "When she arrived, it was still the wet season, so it was stinking hot and humid. I thought she would turn around and head back to WA for sure!"

"Together we have built our tourism business (the Katherine Outback Experience) from the ground up," he explains. In the beginning, we were performing the show to just one or two people… to now performing to sold out crowds in Katherine and on the road as well as being awarded the Best Tourist Attraction in Australia. It's been an amazing experience and for me, doing life and sharing it with my best friend is my version of heaven of earth."

Clad with acoustic and pedal steel guitar, it utilises a menagerie of authentic sounds from the country music arsenal. The handiwork of former Sherbet keyboard player, Garth Porter - perhaps better known in country music circles for his groundbreaking work with Lee Kernaghan, James Blundell and many more Australian icons.

"It was a phenomenal process hearing all the musicians come into the studio and bring this song to life and even hear how they reacted to the song and the vibe it created," recalls Tom of his time at Garth's Rancom St Studio in Sydney.

In addition to the massive chart success of 'Why We Live Out Here', Tom has had great triumphs with his previous albums - We're Still Here and Territory Time both hitting #1 on the Australian Country Albums iTunes chart. He also took home two Golden Guitars in 2018 for his duet with Luke O'Shea, 'Never Never Land'.

Away from the stage he's an official ambassador for Dolly's Dream - a foundation devoted to raising awareness around the devastating impacts of bullying. His ever popular, Katherine Outback Experience, has garnered awards for 2021 Best Tourist Attraction in Australia and Best Tourist Attraction in the NT for the last three years running.

With winter being the Katherine Outback Experience peak tourist season, Tom has hit the road with his music for the last five summers in a row. This year he's embarking on a whopping 70+ dates across NT, QLD, NSW, VIC, TAS and SA. Kicking off on October 21 in Tom's hometown of Katherine, the show combines dog and horse training and Tom's original music into a 3-hour family friendly experience, with a strong focus on audience participation.

Fans of Tom's honest and heartfelt stories will adore his new single 'Heaven on Earth'. Through his unique show, it's revealed just how hard working and passionate he is about spreading messages of resilience and joy through his music. The new album from which 'Heaven on Earth' is lifted - Nothin's Gonna Stop Us - is now available for pre-order now and set for release on Friday October 21.
