It's confirmed. The McClymonts are still Australia's most loved and celebrated country-pop group with industry and fans flocking with admiration for their sixth studio album Mayhem To Madness.
What will delight fans, the sister trio today release the official video for their new single, 'Free Fall'. Directed by onil Kotian, 'Free Fall' is the second single from the #3 ARIA Album chart and #1 ARIA Country Album chart record.
Shot in Sydney, it's the first time The McClymonts have worked with onil Kotian and the first time the young director has worked on a country-pop clip. His previous videos include Angus & Julia Stone ('Snow'), Tora and Boy & Bear's ('Hold Your Nerve'), and for 'Free Fall', he brings a contemporary edge mixing colour and monochrome for visual energy.
onil says, "Working with The McClymonts on 'Free Fall' was collaboratively one of the smoothest experiences, given the slightly experiential nature of the concept. We both intuitively felt that the mixing colour and monochrome worlds brought a visual energy that mirrored the drive of the song itself. To have the girls complete trust from the beginning and then have them each deliver an electric performance on the shoot day was an absolute luxury. The music video speaks for itself as a result."
Mayhem to Madness, was released with a special album launch event with fans across the globe joining them on a live stream, championed by key country music media, festivals and retail partners syndicating the performance across their own social channels reaching over 1.5 million people.
Mayhem to Madness was co-written by Brooke, Sam & Mollie McClymont with additional credits from Lindsay Rimes, Phil Barton, Robby De Sa, Georgi Kay, Jennifer Hanson, Alexandra Hosking, Whakaio Taahi, Lindsey Jackson and Andy Mak, who produced the album and co-wrote the anthemic first single country-pop track 'I Got This'. The single reached the top of the Australian Country Hot 50 Airplay Chart where it remained for 2 weeks.
The McClymonts have enjoyed incredible success since the release of their debut EP in 2006 with over 260,000 album sales and 27 million track streams. They have achieved two Gold album sales accreditations and received 13 Golden Guitar Awards, 2 ARIA Awards and an APRA Award all whilst becoming one of Australia's favourite touring groups.
