The Luminale Supperclub
The Luminale Supperclub presents an eclectic entertainment line-up featuring some of Australia's most iconic and award winning performers under the one roof at the Sydney Opera House this New Year's Eve.
Inspired by the glamour of the 1920s Gatsby era, this brand new event is the most luxurious way to bring in the New Year. Multiple Helpmann Award-winning actor, singer and all-round entertainment powerhouse, Paul Capsis, will curate the evening's entertainment with a carefully selected troupe of superb musicians and captivating performance artists.
"I am thrilled to be curating this event. It's a first for me and, with this cast of performers, it promises to be a truly special night. From Opera to Jazz, Blues, Soul and Disco, there will be a delightful mix of styles to make New Year's at the Opera House a night to remember always." says Capsis.
Christa Hughes, renowned rock 'n' roll chanteuse, cabaret star and daughter of legendary jazz performer Dick Hughes, will lead the troupe and electrify the night with heart stopping performances. With a background covering the Victorian Opera's How To Kill Your Husband, Julian Temple's Eternity Man to her own latest incarnation, the New Orleans jazz-inspired, Honky Tonk Shonks, Christa will keep guests enthralled as she leads them on a musical journey over the course of the evening with a few surprises in store.
Among the star-studded line up is Opera superstar Dimity Shepherd, an entertainer celebrated for her ability to deliver performances with exceptional dramatic and vocal vigour. Singing in large-scale productions such as Carmen, The Barber Of Seville and How To Kill Your Husband, Shepherd is one of Australia's most sought out Opera performers and a two-time Green Room award winner, Churchill Fellow and Helpmann Award nominee.
Rounding out the line-up is International Musical Theatre star and Mo Award winner Michael Cormick who boasts extensive credentials both locally and internationally, playing the lead roles in many musicals including Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Romeo and Juliet and Evita; with award-winning musical theatre performer Luke Joslin: from Dr Zhivago to Annie, and well-deserved Green Room and Helpmann awards for his performance in Avenue Q; Bev Kennedy and the Beverages Jazz Ensemble along with Johanna Allen, Sean Barker and Michael Whalley.
At the stroke of midnight, ARIA Hall of Fame member and Australia's own disco diva, Marcia Hines will transform the event from cabaret lounge to a midnight discotheque destined to keep guests dancing until the early hours of the morning.
Hosted in the Northern Foyers of the Sydney Opera House, guests of The Luminale Supperclub will have exclusive access to the Sydney Opera House's private balcony, providing a first class viewing platform to the epicentre of Marc Newson's magical midnight fireworks display.
ARIA Catering will indulge guests with a never-ending flow of sumptuous canapés throughout the evening with a bespoke menu designed by Matt Moran, co-owner of ARIA. French champagne and fine beverages will be carefully selected by ARIA head sommelier Matthew Dunne.
