Streets Paddlepop Mini Milks and Mini Fruits

Constant focus on kids nutrition has put parents under increasing pressure to provide their kids with healthier food choices. Busy Mums and Dads are looking for simple and accessible treats their kids will enjoy, without sacrificing whats best for them.

In response to the need for healthier treats on the market, Streets Paddle Pop has introduced Mini Milks and Mini Fruits, a new range of ice cream treats for little kids that are made with the goodness of real milk and fruit juice.

"We know little children can be extremely fussy about what they eat, which makes it difficult for Mums and Dads to maintain a balance between whats best for their kids and what their kids want," said Mark Fryday, Marketing Director for Streets ice cream.

"Parents love to give their kids ice cream as its a fun time for both kids and parents. We went out to develop great tasting healthier ice cream treats that offer parents a better choice for their kids," said Mr Fryday.

In addition to the low kilojoule content, Streets Paddle Pop Mini Milks contain 70% milk with a calcium content of 15% of the recommended daily intake per serve. The Mini Fruits also contain 40% real fruit juice.

Nutritionist for Streets ice cream, Megan Cobcroft said the size of the new Mini Milks and Mini Fruits was also an important part of the development process.

"With childhood obesity an important health issue in Australia today, limiting the serving sizes of foods is recognized as one way to address this issue."

"The smaller sized Streets Paddle Pop Mini Milks and Mini Fruits can easily fit into a young childs healthy diet because they are only 90-210 kJ per serve, making them a better choice for a treat," said Ms Cobcroft.

Streets Paddle Pop Mini Milks and Mini Fruits are a more manageable size for little hands, and are long and narrow for little mouths. They are available in a variety of popular and simple flavours - delicious Mini Milks come in chocolate, strawberry and vanilla and Mini Fruits come in fruity apple berry, tropical, orange mango and passion pine.

"Weve found that little kids prefer basic flavours and unlike older kids, are not always keen to try new tastes. Weve kept it simple with milk and fruit flavours that we know they are already familiar with and like," said Mr Fryday.

The new range of little ice cream treats are available nationally in grocery stores in packs of 12 (Streets Paddle Pop Mini Milks) and 14 (Streets Paddle Pop Mini Fruits), at RRP $4.99.
