Canberra singer-songwriter, Sophie Edwards returns with her brand new single 'Seconds', a song about feeling numb and lost, craving connection and purpose.
Musically capturing her emotions through melodic blends of jazz, folk, acoustic and contemporary genres, this songstress explores self-doubt in a moment of vulnerability. "The song is trying to connect people who feel like their lack of feelings aren't valid. I want to encourage everyone to relax and realise their importance in the world despite not necessarily feeling important or useful", explains Sophie.
Honing her craft at the Australian National University School of Music, and taking successful steps in her music career included signing with local record label Vacant Room Records this year. Her first major single 'Early Bird' streamed on Spotify over 10,000 times as well as receiving radio airplay across Australia.
Sophie is renowned locally performing at major events such as Groovin the Moo Warm Up Party, The National Folk Festival, Googfest and most recently, Live in Ya Lounge. In September, she was announced as a winner of two separate music mentorships, one with the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) and the other Ricochet MATES, led by producer and songwriter, KLP, best known from triple j's House Party.
So take a second, and join Sophie as she takes her music journey to the next step.
