Fused between a concoction of dream-pop grooves and indie-folk acuity, The Snowcats return for the second time this year with a reimagined Hebrew version of their most recent single "Respire", titled "Lynshom". "Lynshom" is based around a portraiture of the planet Venus, and infers the story of Jesus Christ's birth against this astral character's backdrop, and also a hypothetical exploration of the planet after adoration from the surface of the Earth. The song was originally crafted in Hebrew, and eventually an english version was born from that.
The track was recorded at Angel Studios in Archerfield, QLD. Production, mixing, mastering & engineering were all provided by the talented Nathan Woodrow. "Lynshom" began as a project song of singer/guitarist Alex Edwards, undertaking the goal to make a single based towards the number "7" in composition guidelines. A 7-letter title and in one of 7 chosen languages, Lynshom evolved into the Snowcats repertoire out of genuine demand for its liliting alt-pop contours.
The band's front man Alex describes the meaning behind "Lynshom" as, "I think Lynshom asks the listener to imbue a sense of peace towards themselves, and to think about space travel. I'd love the listener to consider the gravity and importance of tomorrow's epoch of technology and space travel, perhaps, while also having them connect to the raw aesthetic gentleness of the song - and have them feel that it speaks to their own private expressions."
Featuring established local balladeer Alex Edwards on vocals and three peerless fellows plucked from around the ridges of Queensland's capital, Snowcats converge upon Alex's 100+ show tally with their own swags of experience to reinvent the indie genre once and for all, and will finish the 2021 calendar year having played at King Lear's Throne, Tomcat, Archive, The Cave Inn, Uh-Oh and Woolly Mammoth Mane Stage. It's an exciting caravan ahead for this new foursome of rimy felines, and only one question truly remains – what will be of their debut EP in March, 2022? The Snowcats' Hebrew version of "Respire", "Lynshom" releasing on December the 17th will be another taste for all the great things to come.
