Sharna Burcher Rise From The Ashes

Chart-topping singer songwriter Sharna Burcher returns with her latest single 'Rise from The Ashes', ahead of the release of her sophomore album Backwards Town which is set for release on Friday 12th November and available for pre order now.

The inspiration for 'Rise from The Ashes' comes from an unusual source, but it is a tragic story all too familiar. "Rise from The Ashes was inspired by an article I read in the paper about a lady who was charged with the murder of her husband. During the trial, it was discovered she was a victim (and survivor) of domestic violence," Burcher says. "Her story really stuck with me and it got me thinking about other women that I knew that had been in abusive relationships, and how hard it was for them. 'Rise from the Ashes' is a song about strength, resilience and survival."

The track was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee at Troubadour House by Nash Chambers and produced by Nash's father Bill Chambers. Joining Nash and Bill on the track are Australian musicians Jedd Hughes and Lucky Oceans, as well as Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's drummer Shawn Fitcher, Tony Lacido, and Emmie Chambers.

Sharna Burcher has seen her career bloom with the title track of her forthcoming album Backwards Town debuting at No.1 on iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts, and her recent single 'The Hardest Parts' hitting No.9 on the Play MPE Most Downloaded chart.

Burcher has toured extensively performing at Silverton Sunset Music Festival, Clarence Town River Festival, and the Fred Eaglesmith Charity Festival in Canada. She has also trodden the boards around the US as a guest of Bill Chambers and has opened in Australia for artists including Fanny Lumsden and Catherine Britt.

A doting step-mother and caring animal lover, Sharna Burcher's music comes from a place of humility and from a deep well of emotions. She channels the history of country music into a sound all of her own and 'Rise from The Ashes' is another heartfelt piece to tug at the heartstrings, while providing a message of hope.  Her forthcoming studio album Backwards Town is available to pre order now and is out on 12th November.
