Ready Steady Go Kids and PJ Masks are joining forces in a partnership designed to encourage young kids to get active, while developing gross and fine motor skills – with a circuit that will run in Term 1 2020 as part of the Ready Steady Go Kids program.
The PJ Masks Circuit will have children testing their agility, balance and coordination: kids will jump, leap and speed round the course like Catboy; swoop, tippy toe and fly like Owlette and test their aim, their grip and their throwing skills like Gekko!
According to Paediatric Occupational Therapist, Carmen Dodds, having pre-schoolers participate in a regular structured multi-sports program like Ready Steady Go Kids supports school readiness.
"By teaching pre-schoolers to take instruction and direction from others; taking turns; sharing equipment; cheering on team mates; participating in a group setting and ultimately having fun and getting enjoyment from playing sport, they are developing crucial skills to take the next important steps in their lives."
The PJ Masks Circuit has been developed by the experts at Ready Steady Go Kids to explore the skills shown by the lead characters in the show.
"Kids love to learn new skills, and we're making it even more exciting by getting the PJ Masks characters involved," Ready Steady Go Kids Director, Danie O'Connor said.
"The PJ Masks show centres around themes of teamwork, problem solving, belonging and being active, making it the perfect partner for us. And if we can use the power of PJ Masks to further a love of being active, we are setting our kids in good stead for the future."
