Pharaohs Fable

Introducing Pharaohs and their debut single, Fable. Pharaohs is the musical universe created by Kendall James and Brett Sellwood. The pair met whilst Dj-ing at a late-night establishment together on the Gold Coast, and quickly realised they both shared a very similar palate for electronic music.

Since then, the pair have been on their own journey with other musical projects and ventures, sharing musical ideas with each other throughout the years. Discussion for the collaborative project had been going on for some time and now that project has come to life.

"One day late into the evening I'd been working on different piano progressions over a four to the floor beat and it wasn't until I wrote the horn section that I realised the song was unfolding. Fable for me is about the common uncertainty we have when met by a fork in the road, making a choice and backing yourself that you've chosen the right path, wherever that path may take you." – Kendall James, Pharaohs

Escapism Electronica is how the sound can be described, leading listeners on a journey filled with indie pop and dark electronica with the ability to be consumed all hours of the day and night. Dreaming or Dancing, Pharaohs finally portrayed the art they've been refining for the past almost decade.

Fable is the first track Pharaohs wrote together, so it seems fitting that it be the first single to hit the shelves and introduce them to the world. The song is an ode to making the right choice or change for yourself in whatever situation that might be. Eerily played horns and progressive style keys are accompanied by upbeat bass patterns and a dynamic vocal delivery.
