North Arm Lately

The brainchild of Roderick Smith, North Arm, today releases new single 'Lately' via Bandcamp, following a heralded debut EP, an anointment as FBi Radio's Unsigned Artist of The Week in June and a spout of appearance across Sydney's live music scene over the last year. North Arm follows Rod's co-founding of Firekites back in 2005, offering his new work an experienced touch to balance his fresh outlook.

-Lately' is the first single to come off his forthcoming second EP, LIFE CYCLES, due out in November. -Lately' occupies a more intimate space than previous work, and follows from the tentative beginnings of a relationship to the moment of pure abandon and resolve. Exploring the rites of passage in growth and love with disarming honesty and a tempered sense of nostalgia, North Arm showcases a development into a softer, warping realm. Featuring his signature delicate riffing, -Lately' is a laid back push into beach weather and a forceful push to the heart.

North Arm's, debut EP, THOUGHT LINES, was released through Spunk Records in April 2013, which included previous single, -Hollow Days'. Live shows have seen NORTH ARM enlist the assistance of champion musos Sean Roche (lead guitar), Ianto Ware (bass) and Evan Clulow (drums + percussion). The live team have since charmed audiences alongside the likes of Shining Bird, Jimmy Tait and The Devotional to name a few.
