With tales spun between two homes in the desert and the city, Mei Lai Swan is taking her place amongst the nation's chanteuses for her finely crafted avant-indie-pop, built on cello, loops, multi-instrumentalism, and the occasional electronica.

Wedding Day is the first taste from her forthcoming debut album due for release later this year. Produced by Jake Savona (Mista Savona), it is a wry take on the heady rush of falling in love that plunges you into the blind belief of the fairytale wedding, that unfortunately lacks the fairytale ending... Pulsating electro beats, with a dancehall breakdown and changes that complement its sardonic lyrics, Wedding Day pulls on the heartstrings in quite a different way.
