mCareWatch  product review

mCareWatch  product review

The mCareWatch is a personal emergency watch designed for the elderly and disabled to improve their personal safety.

It has been a life saver for countless wearers as well as offering peace of mind to families not living with their loved ones.

The watch has numerous safety features including automatic SOS calls to up to six pre-set contacts if the SOS button is activated, GPS and Wi-Fi location tracking, fall detection and non-movement alerts as well as auto answer and chat. Additionally, it can be used as a reminder function to alert the wearer that it is time to take medication or go to an appointment.

The current watch is the eighth iteration and includes the No.1 ranked Geo-fence safe zone feature which automatically sends an alert to loved ones if the wearer strays outside a designed area/zone.

Additional features have been added over the years. It keeps track of how many steps the wearer is doing in a day and if there is a deterioration in the short or long-term it may mean an intervention is required. It will also alert a family member if the wearer's heart rate goes over a predetermined rate. For dementia wearers the SOS can be deactivated and it becomes more of a tracker. Numbers that aren't pre-programmed into the phone don't get through, putting an end to unwanted sales calls.

The mCareWatch is connected to the company's proprietary software platform called ConnectiveCare. This enables a carer or family member to access care-related data on a desktop or via a mobile App. This provides real time updates and notifications. It is based on a subscription model.

mCareWatch Review:

The mCareWatch is a personal emergency watch designed for the elderly and disabled to improve their personal safety. It has been a life saver for countless wearers as well as offering peace of mind to families not living with their loved ones. The watch has numerous safety features including automatic SOS calls to up to six pre-set contacts if the SOS button is activated, GPS and Wi-Fi location tracking, fall detection, and non-movement alerts as well as auto answer and chat. Additionally, it can be used as a reminder function to alert the wearer that it is time to take medication or go to an appointment.

The current mCareWatch includes 25 languages (including; Greek, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin) which means all commands and reminders are announced in these languages. On previous models, this was only available in English. The watch also features fall detection, which triggers an SOS call when a fall is detected. The watch also monitors the wearer's heart rate and alerts are sent to carers/family when the heart rate is too high or too low. An easy-to-use Magnetic Recharger base is included and the watch comes with WhatsApp VoIP that allows the watch to connect to the home Wi-Fi to make and receive calls, which is offered to people with poor mobile connection. When the watch is at home, it connects to the home Wi-Fi to make calls and once the wearer steps away from home, the watch automatically reverts and connects with the mobile network.

For dementia wearers, the SOS can be deactivated and it becomes more of a tracker. Numbers that aren't pre-programmed into the phone don't get through, putting an end to unwanted sales calls. The mCareWatch is connected to the company's proprietary software platform called ConnectiveCare, this enables a carer or family member to access care-related data on a desktop or via a mobile App, providing real-time updates and notifications. It is based on a subscription model.

The mCareWatch is bought outright and a Service Plan is required with each watch, which includes access to the ConnectiveCare dashboard, mobile APP, and activated SIM card. The Service Plans are available in three plans Basic, Standard and Premium, ranging in price from $35 per month to $69 per month, with the $49 Standard option being the most popular.

The downside for me is the size of the watch, with small wrists, I find it rather large and bulky which is good to read, but takes getting used to wearing.

The mCareWatch is a high-quality product that offers peace of mind and safety to elderly and disabled individuals and their families. It's user-friendly and versatile, making it a great option for anyone looking for a personal emergency watch. The subscription-based service plan ensures that the watch is always up to date and working properly, giving users peace of mind.
