Sony Music Entertainment Australia is excited to announce iconic and premiere musical theatre star Marina Prior and Australia's No.1 tenor Mark Vincent have joined forces to record a duets album, Together, set for release on Friday April 15th, 2016.
The album is produced by Australian producer Chong Lim (Delta Goodrem, Kylie Minogue, Olivia Newton-John, Tina Arena, David Campbell) and features new interpretations of the classics and Opera favourites including, -Music Of The Night', -I Hate You Then I Love You' and -Amigos Para Sempre'.
Mark fell in love with Marina's voice at an early age explaining, 'I was so excited to work with Marina, I've always wanted to work with her... singing together created such a great bond between us and we've become great friends. I think that shows in the songs we sing on Together…there's an honesty between us."
'You have to be on the same wavelength," explains Marina. 'You have to be -simpatico' and feel things together. I think that we do that musically, but I also think that we click personally. Music is just an extension of who you are, really. The work has to be true for it to resonate."
Marina Prior, one of Australia's greatest leading ladies, has performed over twenty leading roles in her musical theatre career, starring in the much-loved The Phantom Of The Opera, Cats, Les Miserables, Guys And Dolls and Mary Poppins. Marina is currently starring as Baroness Schraeder in the Australian tour of The Sound Of Music.
Mark Vincent is a prodigious singing talent, with legions of fans nationwide after winning Australia's Got Talent at the age of 15. Now 22, Mark has six albums under his belt, with over 500,000 plus sales in Australia alone, making him a multi-platinum artist. He recently starred on stage in the highly acclaimed musical Dirty Dancing, and is making a name for himself in Australian opera and musical theatre.
With Mothers Day around the corner, Marina Prior & Mark Vincent's new album TOGETHER is the perfect gift for Mum's of all ages. Marina Prior will join Mark Vincent on the road for -Two Heavenly Voices – One Magical Evening', a magical performance of soaring opera arias, musical theatre showstoppers and well-loved popular songs.
