Following up a strong return earlier this year, Adelaide indie songwriter MANE presents new music in 'Over & Over', taken from her forthcoming EP Coping Mechanisms, out November 13th.
An introspective song inspired by navigating difficult times and determining the direction one wants to head in as a result, 'Over & Over' is MANE looking forward and sharing her own sense of optimism to those who might be going through similar struggles.
'Over & Over' is the second release for MANE in 2020 after debuting single 'My People' back in May. Heralding a new chapter for the artist, the single signalled a change in pace for MANE, now signed with Dew Process. "'Over & Over' was written in a moment of strength during a really difficult time. I think, when things are tough, you can choose to sit in sadness or you can choose to push forward; this song is a little reminder to myself to continue to persevere and to fight for my happiness and peace, despite how hard it may be to do so at times. I hope it can bring a moment of strength to those who feel similarly." MANE
Recorded at Shed Studios in Melbourne and produced/mixed by the acclaimed John Castle (Angie McMahon, Hatchie), 'Over & Over' is one of MANE's most personal offerings yet. Putting the lyrics to visuals, MANE worked with video director ROME (BENEE, Mallrat) in various locations in South Australia including the Adelaide Hills, Mount Osmond and the Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens to capture the energy of the song. "We wanted to capture the freeing feeling of the song. The director Rome did a really great job of doing this and sourcing some of the really beautiful locations amongst nature across the Adelaide hills. The shoot itself was a long and cold day but nonetheless was aptly fitting being amongst the scenery. It was so great to see it all tie together"
