Lucy Burke Deaf Ears

Lucy Burke Deaf Ears

Singer Songwriter Lucy Burke has just released her latest single Deaf Ears.

Deaf Ears takes a peep behind the curtain, imagining the world through the eyes of legendary female singers.

Inspired by the meltdown of Britney Spears and her recent censorship battle, the melancholy behind Marilyn Monroe's smile and the tragedy of Amy Winehouse, Deaf Ears imagines the trappings of fame, where you feel alone in a crowded room and people see you but no one listens. Where your pleas for help and understanding fall on "deaf ears."

Deaf Ears explores the pressure many female artists experience. The pressure to toe the line between sexuality and modesty, to be both revolutionary and conformist, both attainable and unattainable and at the top of your game, always, forever. It celebrates the joy of taking ownership of your life and letting go of expectations in a world where people are quick to judge but slow to reach out.

With elements of pop, jazz and blues, Lucy's sultry yet powerful vocals  explore the universal theme of breaking free of internal and external pressures and expectations, and celebrate a new found sense of inner peace.
