Laura Frank Shares New Single & Video 'We Won't Stop Runnin' + Touring Nationally

Inspired by a rough patch with her partner of 7 years, Nick Morrissey, the pair hashed it out in the writer's room. "We had been bickering constantly and couldn't agree on anything," recalls Laura. "Most songwriters get to live their lives and vent their experiences with their loved ones through songs and writing sessions. Nick and I do this together. If we argue or if either one of us are feeling a particular emotion and we need to work it out in song… we do it together."

Navigating life, work and everything in-between together has made the duo thick as thieves. In fact, their likeness to iconic cinema duo, Thelma and Louise, inspired the track's freewheeling theme. "We'd rather drive off the cliff than give in," admits the singer-songwriter. "This is the ultimate 'Ride or Die' song. Nick is my Ride or Die."

Laura and Nick's creation came to life within the storied walls of Bernard Fanning's Brooklet Recording Studio. With long-time producer, Jordan Power (Kasey Chambers, Troy Cassar-Daley, Xavier Rudd) at the helm, laying down the track was a breeze. "Recording with Jordan for many years our recording process is always smooth. It's such a privilege to be able to work with a team who completely understands your direction."

For the first time in her career Laura relinquished creative control of the song's music video and let her partner in life and music, Nick, take the reins. "I have no doubt he will capture the essence of the song and create a visual that is as impactful as the tune is." Shot in the singer's own home, the clip's jagged lighting and camerawork form a compelling visual representation of a tumultuous relationship.

For much of 2024 Laura has lived life on the road, touring with Golden Guitar winner, Tom Curtain. "We are like a travelling circus!" She laughs. While Curtain's show heavily features horse riding and dog training, Laura thought it only fitting this year to bring along a few furry friends of her own. "We're touring the entire country across 7 months with 12 horses, 14 dogs, 4 goats and a cat. We decided it was a good idea to bring our entire family this time, Dennis our Labrador, Winnie our Jack Russell and Kevin our cat."

Amidst her rigorous schedule with Curtain the dynamo has opened for Aussie legend, Daryl Braithwaite and Melanie Dyer. Fans across the nation are discovering why Laura was named 'Most Promising Future Star' at the 2023 Australian Country Music People's Choice Awards.
