After a monumental 2016 which saw Lastlings named as triple j unearthed high finalists, land a booking deal with Select Music, touted as 'ones to watch" at BIGSOUND and hand picked to support acts such as Glass Animals and RÜFÜS, Gold Coast siblings Lastlings show no sign of slowing down. Today the duo drop their latest single -Urges' off their forthcoming EP, -Verses', set for release 17 March via Exist. Recordings, the label brainchild of Danny Harley aka The Kite String Tangle. The sophomore EP marks the duo's first release with the innovative label and will see them embark on a headline East Coast tour this March.
A collaborative effort, the 7-track EP includes standout singles -You' and -Time' and was written and self-produced at home. Blending layers of shimmering guitars, gliding synths with airy vocals, the body of work explores themes of growing up too quickly, family complications, love and heartbreak. The duo say 'Ultimately, we hope to be able to provoke thoughts and emotions that would otherwise go unfelt and allow our listeners to draw their own conclusions based on their own imaginations."
Lastlings burst onto the scene in late 2015 with their stellar debut -Unreality' EP, which has been streamed over 2 million times worldwide. With a unique brand of melancholic electronic pop that comes together to create a sound that is entirely their own, it is no surprise that the pair earned esteemed spots on Australian major music festival lineups including Beyond The Valley, Pitch Festival, FOMO and won the triple j Unearthed competition to perform at Falls Music & Arts festival
