Following the recent release of their moody single Quit While We're Ahead, Award-winning Melbourne outfit Lachlan Bryan & The Wildes take it up a notch with the catchy hook driven title track from their forthcoming album, As Long As It's Not Us.
Set to be another standout from the band's highly anticipated fifth studio album, the album's title track/single sees two of Australia's finest and revered songwriters, Lachlan Bryan and Tim Rogers, teaming up to co-write and sing on this infectious earworm.
Lachlan Bryan sheds some light on the track, "This song kind of sums up my whole world view - I guess it's the Aussie underdog mentality that I can't seem to shake as a songwriter or a person. With that in mind I knew Tim Rogers was the right guy to help me with it - we traded lyrics by voice memo and email in the middle of the night for weeks, and then when it was finished he suggested we do the two-part harmony thing the whole way through, referring me to a Nick Lowe/Dave Edmunds' record by way of example.
Damian and the band came up with an arrangement that kind of made us want to jump around the room, and as you'd imagine, TR was a studio dream."
Earlier this year Lachlan Bryan and the Wildes received glowing reviews and topped the charts with their live record Nearest Misses (Live) debuting at #1 on the ARIA Country charts and hitting #38 across all genres. Previously the band have released four critically acclaimed studio albums (Ballad of a Young Married Man, Black Coffee, The Mountain & Some Girls (Quite) Like Country Music) and are a hands down favourite on the live & festival circuit having toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe and Australia.
