Kayla Krystin Interview

How would you describe your music?

I would say it's pop dance. 

Can you tell us about your new album? What was the inspiration?

Don't be a hero is my second single. We are still working on the album. 

What are your musical influences?

I'd say country music and pop. Shania Twain and Beyoncé are two artists I always have on repeat. 

Do you prefer performing live or recording?

Personally, performing live gives me the best feeling ever! Although being in the studio is very different to performing live, I love my time in the studio too being creative. 

What should we expect from your upcoming tour?

At the moment it's just single gigs around Europe.  Maybe it's a little too early to talk about a tour. 

What is the story behind the band name?

I don't have a band yet but the meaning behind "Kayla Krystin" is quiet personal. Kayla is a nickname of my fist name and Krystin is my older sister's name and she means the world to me. 

How did the band come together?

I don't have a band yet. But I perform with 4 dancers. 

What motivates you most when writing music?

Just life experiences in general motivates me to write.  It's wanting to share 

Which music/artists are you currently listening to?

Dua Lipa , Kelsea Ballerini 

What or who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?

Since I was young I always wanted to become a singer.  A lot of artists inspired me and I followed my dream! 

If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?

Shania Twain 

What is the biggest challenge you have faced in the music industry?

I'm quite a perfectionist and I set a standard on myself. So my 

personal challenge is always to perform good on stage. 

What's next, for you?

Currently I'm a lot in the studio to produce 

new songs and live I got the chance to play 

in Monte Carlo at the Oktoberfest for Prince Albert II.
