Australian couture designer Johanna Johnson launched -Muse', her highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2014 collection at her premiere NYC runway show.

The collection by Johnson, known globally for her luxurious red carpet and bridal gowns, debuted her new designs to a capacity crowd at the historic Highline Hotel. 'I am overwhelmed by the response to my new collection – an homage to the muse's in my life - and so grateful to be able to debut this collection in New York City." said Johnson.

Reminiscent of the silver screen age of New York City, Johnson's -Muse' collection is inspired by the architecture of the city, the building blocks of Art Deco. From the elegance of the Chrysler Building, to the empress of the city - The Empire State Building - this collection is built on the construction of embellished beaded designs, paneled silk
gowns, detailed French laces, and reflective, metallic silhouettes.

A red carpet interpretation of bridal, every gown is approached with laborious old world techniques and finishes. Each look is treated as its own homage to old world Hollywood Art Deco, the structure of the era, and the tradition of dressing on ceremony.

Johnson personally designs all the gowns, garments and accessories (bead by bead), all components of which are registered and copyrighted to protect the exclusivity of the brand. Drawing inspiration from old Hollywood glamour, using the heaviest silks available, hand dyed in her own exclusive palette, hand finished French laces, encrusted velvets, and her exclusive, hand beaded -vintage' embellishments.

'I wanted to create beautiful gowns that I myself would wear. Each gown is from a unique styling perspective, and everything is considered from fit, to quality, to comfort, and with a rich range of styling options. For example, purchasing a bridal gown is a very intimate, emotional experience and it should be a memorable occasion. A wedding gown is an heirloom piece that tells a story. A love story."

Johanna's presence on Hollywood's red carpet has been growing rapidly over the past few years with regular A-list celebrity clients including Christina Hendricks, Julie Bowen, Minnie Driver, Maya Rudolph, Meryl Streep and Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco, to name but a few.

This opulent collection of decadent evening wear and art deco bridal lines will be available in select stores internationally from the 1st of December 2013 and for pre-sale immediately. Hand crafted, heirloom gowns that epitomise elegance, and the quality of artisancraftsmanship.
