J. Cole has announced his brand new album 2014 FOREST HILLS DRIVE for digital release on December 10th, and physical release in-stores on December 12th through Roc Nation/Sony Music Entertainment Australia. Check out the album trailer here: http://smarturl.it/2014FHDvideo
After 2013's wildly successful BORN SINNER album release, Cole finished out the year with a sold out World Tour, and blew Australian audiences away supporting Eminem on his Rapture Tour earlier this year. Since then, Cole has kept fans entertained, dropping the powerful track Be Free – a tribute to Mike Brown/Ferguson and the social unrest in the US, featuring on Jessie Ware's remix of Kind Of…Sometimes…Maybe AND jumping on the remix to Maroon 5's Animal.
J. Cole is an incredible story teller, and the concept for the album is centred around his childhood. 2014 Forest Hills Drive is the address of his childhood home in Fayatteville, NC – which he bought back this year – coincidentally also in 2014. The record title celebrates this; and the album tracks centre around various personal times in his life: growing up, chasing his dreams and fame, and coming full circle to realise none of that matters – and rather family/friends and being able to come home is what counts in life.
