ARIA Award winning Australian Artist Illy has unveiled a brand new track 'Codes', out now on Sony Music Entertainment Australia – listen here.
'Codes' was written by Illy and long-time friend Cam Bluff in Illy's hometown of Melbourne; Bluff also produced the track.
A homage to Illy's urban roots and influences, 'Codes', tells the tale of the pursuit of escapism and seeking moments that make life feel not real.
'Codes' follows on from 'Then What'; Illy's first release in over two years. It's been a busy couple of months for Illy since the May release of 'Then What', including jumping on stage at last week's Splendour In The Grass with only 24 hours' notice, to join good mates Hilltop Hoods in their last minute Headliner slot.
Illy first emerged onto the hip-hop scene in 2009 and has since amassed an impressive discography, which includes his debut LONG STORY SHORT (2009), sophomore album THE CHASE (2010), BRING IT BACK (2012), CINEMATIC (2013) and TWO DEGREES (2016).
After five albums and with the creative musical melange of TWO DEGREES, Illy's roots in hip-hop have now spread to all corners of the musical globe to encompass pop, soul, electro and dance; he stands as one of Australia's most innovative and creative artists.
