Hideous Sun Demon Distractions

Hideous Sun Demon Distractions

Hideous Sun Demon have had enough of everything. Washing the dishes, seeing the same people every weekend at the same pub, the endless scroll, the relentless trolls, your stupid face and the dead end jobs.

'Distractions' laments the repetitive and mind numbing activities we all engage in for the sake of escapism. The vehicle for this message is a thick slab of synth laden chain punk that goes everywhere. Don't think you know this song after the first thirty seconds. You do not.

Recent releases have seen the band expand their production dramatically. 'Distractions' takes this development and cranks it up 1000%. Roland 707 percussion, a vocoder, several models of synths, faux British accents and tongue in cheek threats. It's all here. But don't worry, the band hasn't completely forgotten its roots; the guitars on this song are more present and powerful than ever before.

Join Hideous Sun Demon as they chase the Melbourne sound. Or is it the Berlin sound? It doesn't matter. It sounds good.

Hideous Sun Demon are a Melbourne based "Rock Band", featuring members of Dr Sure's Unusual Practice, Terrible Signal, EUGH, Kosmetika and Kitchen People.

They have released 3 LPs and 2 EPs to date. They have appeared at national festivals such as Laneway, Southbound and Big Sound, as well as a swathe of boutique festivals like Camp Doogs, Kennedy's Creek, Volumes Fest and multiple Gizzfests. They completed their first European tour in late 2019 through Futile Bookings, and have had their recordings repressed by European label French Wine Pressings. They have played with garage punk heavyweights like King Gizzard, Thee Oh Sees, SLIFT, Murlocs, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and ORB. 'Distractions' is the second single of a forthcoming release to be announced later this year.
