2008 Grant Burge Moscato

Light and fresh the 2008 Grant Burge Moscato is pale gold in colour and shows alluring lifted aromas of rose petals and floral bouquet. Subtle aromas of rose petals and floral bouquet. Subtle aromas of musk compliment the lively palate and the natural sweetness is balanced by the elegant acid structure.. The wine finishes with a crisp, clean zingy taste.

Lightly spritzig and lower in alcohol, the 2008 Grant Burge Moscato has great drinkability and is well suited as an aperitif or a perfect match to spicy Asian dishes or a plate of strongly flavoured cheese.

The Fruit: This wine made from 100% white frontignac grapes, with a arge proportion sourced from Grant's own Lily Farm Vineyard in the Barossa Valley.

The Winemaking: The fruit was crushed and destemmed. The juice was then cold settled and inoculated with neutral yeast to retain the natural fruit characters of the Frontignac grape. The fermentation process was carried out at a cool temperature (below 10 degrees) for three weeks at which time the fermentation was stopped to retain natural grape sugars. The wine at just 9% alcohol was then bottled early and under low temperatures to retain the natural carbon dioxide which appears in the wine as subtle elegant bubbles.

A most enjoyable change to mainstrain wines, and will suit those who enjoy a sweeter taste.

Tinged with copper hues, the wine deals out a delightful biscuitlike nose combined with ripe strawberry and peach characters. The palate is rich and generous with a real vitality thats heightened by the creamy mouthfeel and a dry, acid finish. This is a sparkling that adapts to its environment, and as such just as enjoyable with food as it is on its own. The style is one of elegance and finesse, balanced with flavour and, above all, drinkability.
