Interview with Fahia Buche
Question: How would you describe your music?
Fahia Buche: I would describe my music as melancholic and experimental, with many different musical influences, such as Lana del Rey and Alan Parsons.
Question: Can you tell us about the Oaks & Fahia EP?
Fahia Buche: The Oaks & Fahia EP is a Symphonic Rock Project which I started with the guitar player and composer Oaks. It will be released at the end of this year and it reflects our thoughts about society, inspired by dystopian novels such as "1984".
Question: What inspired the Shadows EP?
Fahia Buche: I wanted to create an album where I could express my feelings and thoughts at the time, inspired by the nostalgic vocals from Lana del Rey and the electronic sounds from Alan Parsons.
Question: Is there a particular message you hope listeners take from your music?
Fahia Buche: I want my audience to pay close attention to the lyrics. For example, in "Million Bucks", I talk about money being wasted and how the world can be unfair and full of greed. I want people to meditate about matters like this and be critical about everything, without blindly following the crowd.
Question: Do you prefer performing live or recording?
Fahia Buche: In a recording session, I am very focused on producing the best results, which is very fun for me, but when I sing live in front of an energetic crowd, I have this adrenaline rush that makes me enjoy the moment even more.
Question: Which is your favourite song to perform live and why?
Fahia Buche: I love performing an acoustic piano version of "Million Bucks" because it enhances the melancholic feeling of the song.
Question: If you could have anyone, in the world, attend a show, who would it be?
Fahia Buche: I would want Stevie Nicks to attend one of my shows, because I would love to have her on stage and sing a duet with me.
Question: What motivates you most when writing music?
Fahia Buche: Once in a while, I like to meditate about myself and my surroundings. I always obtain a lot of inspiration and I write my thoughts in a small notebook. I also like to listen to my favourite artists to motivate myself.
Question: Which music/artists are you currently listening to?
Fahia Buche: I am currently listening to David Bowie, Alan Parsons, Fleetwood Mac and Pink Floyd.
Question: What or who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?
Fahia Buche: When I was a child, I used to listen to the radio a lot and sing along every song, so I decided to join a choir. From that moment I knew I wanted to be a performer.
Question: If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?
Fahia Buche: There are a lot of artists I would love to collaborate with, but if I had to choose one, it would have to be Barrie James O'Neill, a Scottish singer and guitar player. He is well known for his melancholic music and I feel like our styles would make a great combination.
Question: What's a typical day like?
Fahia Buche: In the mornings, I usually record vocals for other projects and collaborations I work on. Then in the afternoons, I read or listen to music to inspire me for future tunes and lyrics, and at night, I watch a movie or a documentary.
Question: What has been your favourite part of becoming a music artist?
Fahia Buche: Performing and hearing positive feedback about my music from the audience is a wonderful feeling.
Question: What's next, for you?
Fahia Buche: My plans for this year include several "Million Bucks" remixes made by three producers, the release of the first single from the Oaks & Fahia EP and the planning of an European tour.
Question: Can you share your socials?
Fahia Buche:
