Everything Everything return with a brand new single -Can't Do', released today via RCA Records through Sony Music Entertainment Australia. It's the first to be taken from their forthcoming new album, A Fever Dream, which has been produced by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Depeche Mode) and will be released August 18th, 2017. -Can't Do' premiered as Annie Mac's Hottest Record on her BBC Radio 1 show.
-Can't Do' reaffirms this brilliant band's endless creative journey, their ability to incorporate a myriad of ideas within the length of a pop song, whilst feeling coherent and now more direct than ever before. Synth bursts introduce the song before Jonathan Higgs's unique vocal kicks in. Backing vocals and a driving bassline push the song to its chorus, which breaks into euphoria. It's an utterly captivating return.
Of the new single, singer Jonathan Higgs says:
'-Can't Do' is about trying to bend to the world and fit into it. Nobody is normal, nobody knows what normal is. 'I can't do the thing you want' - we don't care we just want you to dance."
A Fever Dream is the Manchester-based four-piece's fourth album. It's the follow up to the critically-lauded album Get To Heaven, an album that can now be seen to have been incredibly prescient given the current state of the world.
Everything Everything will be playing four UK shows in the run up to the release of their new album. All four dates sold out within hours of being announced. The band will also be appearing at Reading and Leeds Festivals, as well as Glasgow TRNSMT Festival.
