Chris Watts Over U

Chris Watts Over U

Since his arrival in 2015, Chris Watts has stepped forward as an artist that consistently delivers powerful songwriting and storytelling. With comparisons to Shawn Mendes and 5SOS, this Melbourne singer and multi-instrumentalist has already supported international artists such as Robbie Williams and Elton John.

Now, he returns with his new single 'Over U' – a gritty, beat driven track that sounds like the love child of Marilyn Manson and Shawn Mendez. A genre bending dark bop.

Speaking about his new single, Chris says, "You're 4 months out after having your heart completely broken. You're in that limbo stage where you know you have to move on but it's way easier to just romanticise the past and to not get "over them". You might even find yourself "accidentally" waking up in their bed once again, having just undone all the progress you've made to move on. This song is your 4month break-up wake-up call! Got to move on."

Australian multi instrumental artist Chris Watts slices through the colossal cloud of pop music like a knife through butter. Deviously throwing pop and rock into a musical cauldron, Chris Watts has cut his own lane, creating a style all of his own; one that looks to the future of pop music whilst lending from the nostalgia of old school rock n roll.

Watts methodically constructs modern dark pop overflowing with texture and attitude. Rich in inspiration and influence from artists like The Weekend, Post Malone and 5SOS as well as having toured with with his father's band from a very young age. Watts' unique musical storytelling weaves a web of songs that are interconnected yet stand graciously on their own.

In 2015, with just one single to his name, Watts featured on the iconic 'MTV Brand New' which boasts alumni such as Sam Smith, Anne Marie and Conrad Sewell. With a tread beginning to form in Watts' tires, 2016 saw the young artist release 'Wrong or Right (feat. Amy Sheppard)' of ARIA Award-winning band Sheppard. With his star on an upwards trajectory, Watts' exposure continued to develop at both Australian commercial radio and television.  In 2017, Watts opened, for arguable the most prolific musician of our time - none other than Sir Elton John. The following year in 2018, Watts shared the stage with Robbie Williams at A Day On The Green's sold out Victorian leg, opening for the British prince of pop.

After a forced hiatus due to the passing of his best mate and a couple of years practically living in the studio creating a barrage of demos, Chris Watts will release the first single from a brand new body of work due in 2021. Watts' new offering will show a side his fans are yet to see, all the while honoring his musical roots. His first new music in two years, Chris Watts fans need not wait a moment longer.

Chris is managed by Stephen 'Chips' McGuire who also manages Cxloe and Carla Wehbe.
