Camille Trail Oh Darling

Camille Trail Oh Darling

Singer songwriter Camille Trail is gearing up for a big year in 2022, and today kicks off with the release of her new single 'Oh Darling', taken from her #5 ARIA debut album River of Sins. Things are continuing to shine brightly for Trail as she received her first Golden Guitar nomination for New Talent of The Year.

A brave and fearless songwriter, Trail decided to write a love song from a different angle, incorporating blues and gospel sounds into the track.  Produced by multiple ARIA and Golden Guitar winner Shane Nicholson, "'Oh Darling' is a love song I subconsciously wrote to myself. I had been writing far too many sad love songs and figured I better write a happy one, and I thought it was just a random love song, I didn't write it for anyone specifically," Trail explains.  "After the song was recorded and I started playing it live, I realised I actually wrote the song to myself. In this world you are the only one person who will be there for every single moment in your life, so love yourself number one."

A cattle farmer from Central Queensland, Trail's career has progressed in leaps and bounds, earning praise from Andrew McMillen of The Australian who describes the 22 year old as "one of the nation's most striking new voices".  Trail has cut a swathe through the country on tour, recently performing at Groundwater Country Music Festival, Savannah in the Round, and delighting fans at her sold out album launch in Brisbane.  Trail will be joining both Shane Nicholson and Michael Waugh on their upcoming tours, before appearing at the rescheduled Tamworth Country Music Festival in April 2022.

Industry stalwart and author Stuart Coupe wrote in Country Music Capital News that "It's pretty obvious that the 22-year-old Trail is something very special. The sonic palate is varied, nuanced and never remotely dull. Then there's Trail's voice which is sublime. And of course, at the end of the day it's all about the songs, and Trail is a perceptive wordsmith."

Camille Trail is that rare artist who redefines musical boundaries and creates music that is special. 'Oh Darling' is a song that will occupy a special place in the hearts of her fans, a song to love and one to remind us to take care of ourselves.
