Angus and Julia Stone Get Home

"This album is extraordinary; Angus and Julia are truly unique musicians. They are authentic and pure people who do things from the heart. I've never worked with anyone like them before." Rick Rubin

Angus & Julia Stone have revealed the video for 'Get Home' (open the iTunes app to watch the video) – the second single from their forthcoming self-titled album, out in Australia on August 1st. 'Get Home' will be officially serviced to radio on August 4th.

Directed by the band's longtime creative collaborator, Jessie Hill, the video which was shot guerilla style along the deserted highways of Mexico, features Angus riding around on his vintage motorbike exploring remote towns and drinking mescal with the locals. The rolling hazy mountainous landscape of Mexico gives the video a nostalgic and off beat quality.

Angus & Julia headlined the GW McLennan Stage at the Splendour In The Grass Festival in Byron Bay, their first Australian show for the year before they return for a full run of national tour dates in September. The Australian tour has already seen several shows sell out and new shows added. Abroad, their US and European tour dates have also been very well received with shows selling out in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Montreal, Brooklyn, New York and Paris. For more information on tour dates and tickets please visit the band's website.

The highly anticipated album is now available for pre-order on Limited Edition vinyl. This limited 180 gram, 2LP pressing of Angus & Julia Stone is available exclusively here. There are also limited signed deluxe CD's copies of the album available for pre-order at JB-HI FI.
Produced by legendary producer Rick Rubin, the album is velvet textures, powerful beats and golden melodies. This album is pure Angus & Julia; there's a brand new potency here, a richness you can't ignore, tracks are of spirit and statement. This record is born of spontaneity and was totally unplanned.

To date there have been over half a million combined Angus & Julia Stone albums sold in Australia. Their debut album 'A Book Like This' achieved Platinum sales in 2007 and their sophomore album 'Down The Way' achieved 4 x Platinum sales and went on to win multiple ARIA awards in 2010 – Album Of The Year, Best Adult Alternative Album, Best Cover Art and Producer of The Year and Single Of The Year for 3 x Platinum 'Big Jet Plane'. "Big Jet Plane' also went to #1 on the Triple J Hottest 100 of that year and scored the band APRA Song Of The Year and APRA Songwriters Of The Year Awards.
