The AIIA Victorian Branch and Multimedia Victoria are pleased to announce the second phase in a series of workshops to help small-medium sized companies gain a practical understanding of how Government procurement works and gain an insight into the key success factors for working with Government.
The workshop program will focus on practical steps for companies looking to develop business with Victorian Government agencies. The four, half-day workshops will cover:
- doing your homework
- responding to the opportunity
- negotiating, contracting and risk management, and
- managing delivery and securing the relationship.
The workshops will be restricted to a maximum of 25 people. Companies will be restricted to one participant each in the workshop program. Ideally, the nominated attendee should attend each workshop however substitutes are acceptable.
Each workshop will feature presentations from expert Government and business speakers who will share their experience and knowledge of the Government market and allow ample time for participants to interact with the expert speakers.
A professional facilitator has been engaged to manage the program. She will create a summary report of the series that will be placed on the AIIA and the MMV websites for future reference.
REGISTRATION IS ESSENTIAL - WALK INS WILL NOT BE GRANTED ENTRY.
Technology One had a participant at the first workshop series who provided the following assessment:
Quote: "The 4 sessions were conducted in a open environment where all members were introduced to the formal tendering processes of government and the informal activities that should be considered when bidding on Victorian ICT tenders, panels etc. Of particular benefit was the opportunity to listen to senior members of the Victorian government discuss there experiences and recommend proven and preferred methods to engage with Government. In addition to this, several organisations that have achieved success with the Victorian Government presented their philosophies for success and detailed the activities they have found successful.
Most importantly, the workshops provided the opportunity to network with senior government decision makers and build vital contacts for ongoing discussions. I would recommend that any SME looking to develop a strong and proven strategy for bidding on Government ICT opportunities attend the AIIA Working with Government courses".
