WetWorld
28 December 2012 - 28 February 2013
This summer children can keep cool at the Australian National Maritime Museum in its brand new outdoor family play area - WetWorld - opening 28 December.
Children will have loads of fun in two fun-filled zones catering for under sevens and seven to 14 year olds. The first area is for the littlies - enter through the spray arch, dance through the fountains then relax under the mist umbrellas.
The big kids can continue on to the super soakers zone to battle it out in a special water combat marquee complete with water cannons and giant water pistols.
This summer, the Australian National Maritime Museum is inviting families to spend a day at the museum joining in the sea adventures. WetWorld runs alongside the interactive exhibition, Ships and the Sea, where children can learn to be captains in a range of hands-on displays exploring the science of ships and shipping. Plus the already popular Pirates! kids adventure land, where children can transform themselves from landlubbers to fearless buccaneers, continues its successful run.
The museum is also offering a full program of school holiday activities for children of all ages including daily Sailing with Swashbucklers! pirate craft activities. For full details visit
